Sourcing & Compliance

This page outlines the technical, regulatory, and maritime requirements for supplying unroasted pyrite concentrate to Kun Peng Mineral Trading. As a principal buyer and the "Importer of Record," Kun Peng assumes all regulatory risks within China, provided the cargo meets the following criteria.

Scope

Kun Peng Mineral Trading sources mineral products directly from producing mines.

For pyrite concentrate, we are interested in:

  • Unroasted / raw pyrite concentrate

  • Material produced as a primary product or by-product

  • Regular and repeatable supply volumes

Technical Specifications

To ensure successful entry of unraosted pyrite concentrate into China, we monitor both our internal quality needs and the mandatory rejection limits set by the GB/T 20424-2025 standard (effective Sept 1, 2025).

ParameterOur Target

Rejection Limit

Moisture (H₂O)≤ 10 %

Cargo will be refused loading if MC exceeds the Transportable Moisture Limit (TML)

Pyrite purity (FeS₂)≥ 90 %

Iron (Fe)≥ 45 %

Sulfur (S)≥ 45 %

≤ 35 %

Materials below 35% S are often flagged as waste, which is a banned import

Non-pyrite sulfur≤ 1 %

Silicon dioxide (SiO₂)≤ 1 %

Aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃)≤ 0.10 %

Calcium oxide (CaO)≤ 0.10 %

Manganese oxide (MnO)≤ 0.10 %

Chlorine (Cl)≤ 0.10 %

Lead (Pb)≤ 0.10 %

≥ 1 %

Arsenic (As)≤ 0.20 %

≥ 0.40 %

GB/T 20424-2025: Strict rejection for environmental safety

Zinc (Zn)≤ 0.10 %

Fluorine (F)≤ 0.05 %

≥ 0.10 %

Cadmium (Cd)

< 0.05 %

≥ 0.05 %

GB/T 20424-2025: Stricter limits implemented in late 2025.

Mercury (Hg)

≤ 0.01%

≥ 0.015 %

Quality Control

Suppliers are expected to provide:

  • Recent Certificate(s) of Analysis (COA)

  • Independent laboratory test reports issued by internationally recognized inspection companies (e.g. SGS, Intertek, or equivalent)

Test reports should clearly indicate:

  • Sampling method

  • Test standards

  • Date of analysis

  • Mine source

Production Capacity & Supply Profile

To assess supply suitability, suppliers should be able to disclose:

  • Current annual production capacity of unroasted pyrite concentrate

  • Typical shipment sizes

  • Ability to support stable, long-term supply

  • Typical loading port(s)

  • Previous export experience, especially to China

This information is used solely for internal evaluation purposes.

Environmental Compliance

Kun Peng operates under the 2026 Action Plan for Comprehensive Treatment of Solid Waste. This requires all mineral imports to be high-utilization materials.

We require:

  • Environmental Impact: We only source from mines with valid Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).

  • Sustainability: We prioritize suppliers who can provide data on the carbon footprint of their concentrate production, in line with China's 2026 "Green Transition" goals.

Required Documentation

As the buyer, Kun Peng requires the following document set to execute the import.

Export Documents (From Supplier):

  • Commercial Invoice: Showing the FOB/CFR/CIF value in USD.

  • Packing List: Detailing the total metric tonnage (Wet and Dry).

  • Full Set Bill of Lading (B/L)

  • Certificate of Origin

  • Export License: Verification of legal authorization to export from the origin country.

Maritime Safety

Unroasted pyrite concentrate is classified under the IMSBC Code as a Group A cargo. It poses risks of liquefaction (Group A).

Mandatory Maritime Documents for Loading:

  • Moisture Content (MC) Certificate: Actual moisture of the stockpile, sampled within 7 days of loading or less in case of precipitation.

  • Shipper’s Declaration: Identifying the cargo as "Pyrite Concentrate" with its specific UN number or BCSN.

Commercial Terms

Commercial discussions typically consider:

  • Quantity: indicative volumes discussed on a case-by-case basis

  • Delivery terms: Incoterms® (e.g. FOB, CFR, CIF)

  • Pricing: USD per metric ton

  • Loading ports

  • Validity period of commercial offers

Detailed commercial terms are agreed directly with producing mines.
